Sandgate - Buildings Past and Present

Drawn to this area, a succession of new landowners and residents embellished it with woodlands and ornamental gardens. Wealthy and discerning they also engaged some of the best architects of their time to design not only their spacious homes, but also benefactions such as chapel, church and school. Sandgate has a fascinating mix of architectural styles - some of these buildings are still here and some are now on longer here.
