What goes on at TS Invicta, which was formed in 1942 We provide a broad range of training in the tradition of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines – boatwork, sailing, canoeing, rowing, seagoing experience under sail and power, general seamanship, maritime skills (drill and piping), meteorology, radio communications, first aid, band music, cookery, adventure training, computing, Duke of Edinburgh Awards, BTEC courses and Shooting. Sporting activities include football, physical training, cross-country running, swimming and sailing as a competitive sport. We develop young people to be aware and understand the challenges of life. We take boys and girls between the ages of 10 to 12 as juniors and between the ages of 12 to 18 as fully enrolled uniformed cadets and we help them become better citizens in helping our country go forward. Notes: The Royal Naval Parade is the most important event in the life of the Sea Cadets. The Inspecting Officer arrives, receives the salute and inspects the Guard. This is followed by “Colours” , prayers, and inspection of the Divisions and Duty Cadets. The Inspecting Officer then meets VIPs in the Wardroom and this is followed by Major and Minor Evolutions. The Cadets the prepare for Evening Colours, Presentations are made and the Inspecting Officer addresses the guests.
